*In the state of California, animal chiropractic and rehabilitation services provided by non-veterinarians must be performed under veterinary oversight. This means that if your dog or cat is not already established at one of the veterinary clinics Dr. Mar provides services at, a referral or authorization from a licensed veterinarian is legally required before care can begin. These regulations are set by the California Veterinary Medical Board to ensure patient safety and proper coordination of care. For many, this can feel like an extra step, but in California it is a requirement to remain compliant with state law. If you do not currently have a veterinarian, we are happy to recommend one or guide you through the referral process.
There is currently legislation under consideration, California Senate Bill 1269, which aims to modernize these requirements and allow qualified, certified practitioners to provide care with less restrictive oversight. CANCELLATION POLICY
Dr. Mar requires a minimum of 24 hours notification to reschedule or cancel an appointment to avoid payment in full for the appointment. If you no-show, miss or same day reschedule/cancel your appointment outside of 24 hour window please know that 100% of your payment will be gifted to a local animal rescue foundation.
